What is the right way to work with AI?

AI on Simbial is neither a trick to hide nor an oracle to follow: it is a declared ally, used to amplify human judgement. Here is our policy, and why.

Simbial's position, in one sentence

We believe that one of the best possible uses of AI is to help people create projects that improve the planet. That is why AI on Simbial is everywhere, declared and regulated: it trains you, gives you feedback, helps you structure data. And for that very same reason it never signs on your behalf: judgement, ethics and responsibility remain human, always.

Why it is not cheating

Outside of here, some ban AI and others use it in secret. Both paths lead to poor development: the first prepares you for a world that no longer exists, the second gets you used to passing off as your own what you cannot defend. Simbial's path is transparency: use AI as much as you like, but be able to explain and defend every choice. In the certification assessment, that is exactly what is tested — not what you produced, but what you can stand behind.

What AI does well (and should be used for)

Exploring alternatives quickly, summarising large amounts of material, creating drafts to be improved, checking the consistency of a plan, structuring raw data into organised indicators. In each of these tasks, AI multiplies your speed and broadens your field of vision. Giving it up on principle is like refusing a calculator out of arithmetic pride.

What remains human (and cannot be delegated)

Deciding what matters, choosing between conflicting options, taking responsibility in front of a client, recognising when a figure is too good to be true, stopping short of a dishonest shortcut. AI has nothing at stake: it is not accountable for consequences, it feels neither shame nor pride. That is why decisions that matter carry a human signature.

Gea: a tutor, not a substitute

On Simbial, AI has a name and a precise role: Gea, the dedicated tutor who accompanies you through the simulated project, gives you feedback on your submissions and puts you to the test. Gea teaches by asking questions rather than giving answers: its purpose is to make you more capable, not to make you redundant.

The golden rule: declare

Every time AI contributes to a piece of work on Simbial, that contribution is declarable and tracked. Not out of suspicion — but out of the same principle of verifiability that applies to impact. A piece of work you can describe precisely in terms of how it came about is a piece of work you can stand behind. And it is your ability to stand behind it that builds your reputation.

Want to go deeper?

The relationship between humans and AI deserves more than a quick tip: we have dedicated an entire Academy path to this topic, «AI per l'Impact» — human finitude, judgment, responsibility, practical ethics, all the way to the AI Ethics Licence. It is at the heart of our vision for the future of work.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI be used in submissions on Simbial?

Yes, openly: AI is an ally built into the method. What is assessed is your ability to defend your choices — you must be able to explain and support every part of your work.

Can AI replace human judgment in projects?

No: AI explores, structures and accelerates, but it is not accountable for consequences. The decisions that matter — priorities, trade-offs, ethics, sign-off with the client — remain human.

Who is Gea?
